Fellow APAGR Member:
We hope that you are enjoying the New Year, and wanted to alert you of a venue change for our annual holiday party on January 19, 2018.
Due to an ownership change of the Harris Building, the APAGR was forced to secure a different venue to hold our annual party. This change in venues also necessitated a change in caterers, and we are happy to announce that all of the details have been finally been ironed out.
The holiday party will now be held at the Waddell Center, located at 1115 Taylor Ave. NW.
After touring the Waddell Center, we were very impressed at the space, and that ample free parking is located on-site. The layout will be ideal for our "roaring 20's" theme, and the multitude of zero-risk casino style gaming tables available for your enjoyment!
Without ruining all of the surprises, the flexibility with the catering for this venue has allowed us to bring back a main course which many people have enjoyed in the past.
Costumes are encouraged for this event, so make certain your best gangster suit or flapper dress is ready to go for Friday, January 19! Please note that Tommy guns are not allowed, even if they are period correct.
If you have not yet submitted your RSVP via the website, please do so on or before January 11 here:
We apologize for any inconvenience this change may have caused, and thank you for being a part of the APAGR!Fellow APAGR Member:Given the recent life altering destruction of hurricane Harvey and Irma, fellow APAGR member Amanda Moore has spearheaded a fundraising effort for City workers to contribute. As public servants and leaders in our organization, we have a firm understanding of the efforts needed to regroup and rebuild in the wake of a natural disaster. In the case of disasters of this magnitude, there is an almost unending list of needs:Rebuilding homes, mold mitigation, road reconstruction, restoration of critical communication infrastructure, removal of storm debris, clean-up of environmental contaminants. The above list represents just a small sample of what must be done to recover from these deadly natural disasters. While the destruction of these hurricanes may be far from home, many APAGR members have friends and family who have been severely impacted.Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these victims by donating to the American Red Cross, a charity with a long history of ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most. Amanda has set a goal that the total donated by individual employees reaches $5000.00.While this is not an official solicitation by the APAGR for your participation, we strongly encourage you to join Amanda in making a difference in the lives of those who have lived through these horrendous disasters. You can Donate Online to the Red Cross with a credit card or in person next week at the General Membership Meeting or our Annual Golf Outing.Full details of this initiative can be found in the attachment associated with this message.Thank you,APAGR Webmasters

We understand that many of our members are actively participating in the Govern GR initiative, and apologize for the scheduling conflict with our quarterly membership meeting. In hopes of reducing any overlap between events, we will call the meeting to order promptly at 5:15. We encourage you to arrive between 4:30 and 5:00 for refreshments and socializing.
The meeting date and venue remain unchanged, with full details below.
We hope you are planning to join us for our quarterly membership meeting on September 21, at Harmony Hall, located at 401 Stocking Ave. NW. We are planning for another informative meeting with findings pertaining to the final stages of the wage and classification study. The meeting is scheduled to begin promptly at 5:15, but we encourage you to arrive between 4:30 and 5:00 to enjoy food, fellowship, and fun.
Our meeting will take place in the "Monster Room" which is the area adjacent to the main bar on the main level of Harmony Hall. Those arriving by car can find ample on-street parking located in the vicinity of the venue should the parking lot be full.
