The City of Grand Rapids has established a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the APAGR pertaining to staffing levels during the Coronavirus crisis. This MOU also includes terms and conditions pertaining to the accrual of additional leave time for employees who are required to be physically present at the workplace.
We ask that you take a moment to download and familiarize yourself with the attached MOU to determine the impact to your position. Any specific questions pertaining to the MOU can be addressed via an email to the board. Below is a summary of the hazard pay leave accrual as agreed upon in the MOU.
Effective Wednesday November 18, 2020, for each full week worked during this coronavirus period, full time employees will accrue 4 hours of leave time for coming into work 3 or more days per week. Full time employees that come into work 2 days a week will accrue 2 hours per week. Use of vacation time counts as coming into work. Sick and absent time do not.
This agreement will terminate March 7, 2021or sooner should the positivity rate in Kent County go below 5% for 14 consecutive days.
